In July Audrey turned 13. An official teenager!

We went camping with friends that we know thanks to Audrey. One of Audrey’s friends from reception’s family invited us to a local camping site, which meant Audrey woke up in a tent on her 13th birthday!

We had such a lovely time (a bit of a juggle with the anxious dog, who I brought home every night), but the kids playing outside together, toasting marshmallows and running through the woods was magical.

As you may know from previous posts, Audrey is a bit of a runner, with an independent streak and a mischievous sense of humour, so it’s not always relaxing to be out and about with her. But on this trip, Rex, Audrey’s friend and her friend’s older sister, all stepped up to keep her entertained and safe.

It was such a lovely start to the summer hols and a great way to celebrate Audrey. Her friend got her the perfect present- a Barbie with a wardrobe of clothes! And we also got her the requested Glinda doll.

Now I have to deal with a teenager – wish me luck!
